Default Wheel Hub Assembly

After a little investigation I believe a bad wheel hub assembly maybe the cause of my ABS light and low tire pressue light on the dash. I looked up the parts and they arent too bad ~$110. My monte has 125k miles so im sure one or a couple maybe shot. Any idea how to check it see which one or ones are bad? I still need to get my car scanned to which ABS sensor is bad but I figured I could avoid a diagnostic fee if there was any way to tell otherwise.

,,Please check back on your thread question, and hopefully one of our expert tech's will post a solution to your problem. I think it's best to get a scan. Also, compare your price on hub's to the below.

The ABS light code if you get it read should be able to determine which assembly it is.

Pep boys or Auto Zone will usually give you a free scan if you ask. Or call a few local mechanics and ask them if they would scan it for you for free. It really only takes 5 minutes and should be free even from the dealership but they like to charge $100 for that 5 minutes because its all about the Benjamins.

Ok thanks guys. I will just have to get it read and stop guessing. I was told to jack the car up and see if there was any play in the wheels when grabbing the wheel at the 12 and 6 oclock position. There was some play on both sides but a lot of play when rocking it side to side, ie the 3 and 9 oclock postion. Is it common for the rear assemblies to go bad???

Its a 2000 btw.

I've changed two assemblies, my left front and my right rear.

So yes, it's possible for the rears to go bad too.
