Tail lights

RE: Tail lights
Hi Lu,
I tried to find a previous post that a member asked
the same question, but I could not find.
The updated revisions on the 06 07 Monte Carlo
body changes were mostly to the front end
and newtail light changed.
I think they would fit, but I suggest if none of the MCF
reply I would call your local Chevy Dealers
Parts Dept and I am sure they will let you know
Good Luck

RE: Tail lights
Members of 2000 Monte Carlo say they will. They installed a set on their older ('00-05) Montes.
The only problem I heard anyone complain about was the gap at the bottom of the taillight to the bumper cover. They felt it was a larger gap versus the stock '00-05 taillights.

RE: Tail lights
They will fit but yo uhave to get a resister in between the hot wire to the lights. LEDS will not work with the 2000 05 setup. They will burn each light out at a time.
I will find the resister and post it.

Sorry but what LEDs?
My '06 has no LEDs. Not in the taillights. It has the same bulbs as my g/f's '03 Pace car.
I did the taillight upgrade to both cars is how I know.
And just to let those who want to do this upgrade to their Montes. The '06s once you do the taillight wiring upgrade to the car now has two brake lights (top & bottom) without any other work done to the taillights.
At least this happened with my car just by doing thesimple wiring upgrade to the taillights.
The '05 and down Montesare obviously wired different then the '06/07 Montes. You can either wire for two taillight bulbs or two brake lights in each taillight depending on which wire youchoose to use?

RE: Tail lights
well just so you know......
YES! you can get led taillights for your 00-05.....
These are not stock...they are aftermarket but have the same light "structure", just LED......(and they come in diff colors)
I know FOR SURE because I own them and have installed them.....
no "resistor", no wire tampering.....
they wire right up, you take your bulbs out and the the plug fits perfectly into this light made specifically for a 00-05 monte carlo. There are no tools needed. All you have to do as far as labor is three wingnuts that hold on the light. VERY EASY.
you can follow Lighting → Tail Lights - Euro - Altezza → Chevy-GMC → Monte Carlo → 00-05 from matrixracing.com OR the direct link below:

here is a pic of mine.....
sorry not the best pic but the best one I had on hand of the taillight.
