Default Swapping Spoiler

First post, not exactly sure where to put this but here it goes. I have a 2003 SS and an wanting to get rid of that ugly "surfboard" spoiler and put one of the higher thinner ones on the very back. Is this possible? Anyone done it?

Thanks

you can get one from an 06 or 07 and they will go right on there from the looks of it. there are 4 nuts on the inside of the decklid and then its also double sided taped on. so a heat gun and a bit of prying n razor bladin will help.

My worry is there might be visible holes in the trunk. Guess there isn't a way to tell until I have the other spoiler.

search around on here, there are some recent posts about the swap. i think the most recent thread was something like "i hate my surfboard style spoiler with a passion".

The NASCAR-style (or Pace Car/SS ) spoiler from a 2006 - '07 will cover the surfboard holes perfectly. If you get the previous model, there will be 2 extra holes that you will have to fill in. One of our past members stated that when he swapped his, there were 2 lines in the deck lid that had to be buffed out from where the surfboard sat. He said the SS spoiler is not as wide front-to-back as the surfboard. I have seen 3 successful swaps on the forum and have plans for one myself (soon as I can find one!!).

who isn't looking for an 06-07 model. I wonder why not aftermarket companies are jumping on the proper holes, they would sell A LOT more

i did the swap from surfboard to 06 spoiler
holes match
but like you said BIGG J the 06-07 spoiler is just alittle shorter front to back ..
no big deal tho to me they look so much nicer without that ugly board
