snow driving
What is everyone's opinion on how their Monte or daily driver drives in the snow? In my opinion the monte has been the best car i have driven in the snow.

But good Snow tires make all the difference in the world.
The tires on the SS are too wide for snow, makes the original all seasons useless.
Anyway, with the snows on, drives very stable, it's a heavy car. But like anything in the snow, once you loose it, its not gonna turn out good. Slow down for corners.
And, you need lots of stopping room.
Last year I got hit by a young lady lives 5 houses down my street. She thought she could turn and slow on a downhill right corner, top of our street. I was sitting at the stop sign waiting to turn left, and I saw her coming. I knew she wasn't going to make that corner when I saw her put on her turn signal. I didn't have time to move, just enough time to lean away from the drivers door before she hit me.
People who don't understand physics, shouldn't be allowed to drive in the snow.

My 97 was pretty awful in snow and the 04 I've never really driven it in the snow. Usually drive my dads envoy in the snow which is good.

OK, got more to say.
The best car I had in the Snow was my 97 Cavalier Z24, with the manual and no traction control.
A lot lighter than the Monte, good snow tires, so it was a lot like driving an ATV in the snow. Had lots of fun in that old thing.
Drove back from Florida once, left new years day 2000. Snow started before Kentucky, and since the storm was moving same direction I was, I was in it all the way. It was 19 hours straight driving in 6 inches of snow. My hands were cramped on the wheel. (it was in Erie, PA I finally stopped to put on pants over my shorts)
I learned a lot that day/night. I started counting all the cars stuck in snow getting on or off the hwy, and noticed they were out-numbered by all the 4 wheelers who wiped-out in the center median.
I've done lots of snow trips since then, and I've seen a lot more SUV's with serious crashes than cars that get stuck.
Like I said before, people who don't understand physics shouldn't be allowed to drive in snow. (my daughter for instance, she's been in 3 accidents in the snow, all very minor fortunately. She's an accountant
