Over heating
Ok heres the deal, i have a 2001 monte carlo 3.8 N/A and yesterday it strarted over heating a bit but i payed no mind to it but on the way home from work last night it really start to over heat so i turn on the A/C so it would cool down a little and all i could smell was Anti-freeze so this morning i open the hood and radiator had no water at all.... i drop it about 2 gallons of water in there for the mean while to see were it was leaking from and found out that it was leaking from a plastic elbow located right under the alternator. so what i was wonder if this part is hard to change i had it changed once already but i dont want to take it back and pay for it to be done.... just wondering how hard is it to change and how can i change it?

you did good but you should have pulled over to a gas station to let it cool befor you went to go home. because it could have led to a worse problem like a cracked block or heads. when you said that you turned on the ac it turns on the outher fan it has for the ac you did it kind of smart on doing that. it is a little of a pain in the neck to do you will have to use at least two elbow extentions to get a good angel to remove the elbow. i am still looking for a after market metel one for you to use instead of the plastic one insted of going to have the same problem in the future, when you repace it.
