Default Look at what Walmart did to my rims!

First off, don't bother with the "why did you go to walmart" comments. I know it's not the smartest thing to do, but twice a year I have to have all four tires removed for snows, and then back to the summer tires. They have done it for me for a few years now and never had a problem, and really this could have happened in any tire shop.

These pics are of the worst rim, but all four have gouging to some degree.

I had the kid that did the work look at it before I left, he didn't try denying anything, he just apologized and said the store manager wasn't in at the moment. I called the store a little later that evening and spoke to the assistant manager, I have to bring the car to the store Monday so he and his bay manager can look at it.

it's the same with the wheel balancing weights, you have to specify that you don't want the ones that clip on the outside of the rim

always inspect for the damage that could happen at a shop and you'll be fine.

Arrow Sad Post : (

Hi `Tom,
Bad things happen 2 Good People

To me it is sad in 2days World that there are still people that
have no respect for other people's property/cars , especially
`if they are supposed 2 be trained worker's in any auto/tire/shop.
I hope that your meeting on Monday gets your problem resolved
fairly.

To me, I am learning each day how `Stressful it can be to own
a super nice vehicle. It seems like you can't let your Monte/car
outa your sight. Have 2 always watch where U park it, leave it for
service, etc. & then there are the vandal's, and auto thieves
With Alarms, security system, and armed guards to protect
something that you've worked so hard for.
Make U wanta kick some `butt ~> 4-Sure

We work hard keeping them clean, and it seems everyone wants
to put their fingerprints all over your super shine : )

I know that I don't want another AweSome Monte until I
have a garage to keep `it (Work'in on that: )

Good Luck `Tom

yeah, I hope so. Two of the rims I could live with, the scratches are minor. But the other two, no way, they are gonna have to do something about it.

never live with anything if you didn't do it yourself to the car!

I went to a really good shop to get my new tires mounted on my rims. Top of the line balancer with the stick on weights. When they removed the original clip on weights, they didn't even leave a mark. I was afraid that the old weights were going to break the clear coat and that would be a given for corrosion. I have the chrome plated aluminum wheels and those are my only wheels so I need to protect them through the winter months. They use ALOT of salt here.

i really hope the take care of it for you, but if you drove the car away they're just going to say you did it yourself, and they'll do whatever they can to get away with it, they might even have a sign up that says they're not responsible, its stupid, but i bet thats what happens....they're annoying that way, i had a cart go up the side of my car one time and they wouldn't do anything about it, but i was told if i would have went in there with a laywer or just thrown a fit they would have taken care of it
