Default Help with camera

I have a kodak easyshare dx7630 and whenever i try to import videos onto my computer they will only be formatted for QuickTime so i can not watch them on my windows player. Also i wanted to try and edit them but the windows movie maker will only uses windows tags.

So my question is, is there any way to convert the movie into a format that windows could understand?

I have tried setting my computers default to windows media player. that didn't work

I tried changing some of the settings on the camera and that didn't work.

is there anything else i can do?

Thanks for any help.

try right clicking on the file you want to open up.
then click open with.
then chose the program you wish to open it with .

this should allow win. to open the files for you instead of the Ouick time .

other then when i need it i take quick time off my computer i hate to know i have to have it and use it for things it is a nasty program like this. it is as bad as I tunes and thier havign to use thier files to put anythign in the music plyaers also.

i think with some cameras it just records in .mov format.. try download.com and see if you cant find a converter...

EDIT: found this one, seems like it would work.... http://www.download.com/ZC-Video-Con...dlpid=10828189
