is it possible to have power door locks and the car didn't come with a keyless entry remote system ? I have checked for the black and white wire on the right side of trunk like my other gm cars and cant find it .

Guess I don't understand your question? You have a 97 that didn't come with Door locks or Keyless that you would like to add both to?
If that is the case. Yes you can add Power Door locks and have keyless to lock and unlock the car. Also if you don't have Trunk pop that can be added in much the same way.
Maybe if there was more info about what you have and what your trying to do. Might get more info to better help you

If you go out to the local GM dealer and have them run you Vin # in the computer system it will tell you what the cars features were when built. If it doesn't show up there then you probably don't have them. The wire you are referring to is the only way to set the door locks on the 5th gen.

Aww Ok. Sorry I never had to Program the RKE on the older systems. Most times I just installed Remote Starts or Alarms over the Factory. Mystery hidden wires if I ever had to deal with it, Not something that I have a memory of sadly I can't remember every car I have worked on. Thank you for clearing it up.

Remote Keyless Entry was optional on the LS, and standard on the Z34.
(According to the '97 Monte Carlo brochure.)
If you look at the label that's on the bottom side of the spare tire cover in the trunk, you'll see a list of option codes for your car. AU0 is the one for the remote keyless entry. (By the way, A90 is the one for the trunk release yellow button below the steering wheel).
