Here's a thread of a build for a member's car that is actually undergoing the transformation.

Been a little while since the last update though: https://montecarloforum.com/forum/pa...ppening-52046/

Sheesh. Simplest solution: forget RWD 'conversion' and buy a
2004-2005-2006 Pontiac GTO.

Smile This link that shows the 90's Monte on the dyno is interesting

This link that shows the 90's Monte on the dyno is interesting, I am not sure where the video was taken but this is really quite a feat to turn the Monte
Carlo into a Rear wheel drive V-8.

Extra effort there for sure. Made over 600 hp too.

All the techs standing around like..."Ho hum, it's just a Monte Carlo"

Over 1 million views on it, that's bad azz... Nice find!

The entire chassis needs hacked up: there is no space for the transmission, the driveshaft, the rear end, etc. Literally the entire underside of the car would be ripped out and replaced with a donor car chassis or with some sort of fabricated chassis.
The entire quoted post should be required reading for anybody thinking about doing this conversion. It's not worth it.
Much better to enjoy the '06 SS for what it is: A sporty, comfortable big coupe with a powerful V8 engine. Most folks don't know if it's fwd or rwd anyway.
