This car is kept in a heated garage and has not seen rain or even a water hose since it was built some 7 years ago. The car is only driven once in a while and doesn’t have 1,500 miles on it since it was put together. Why, because the car has a real nice paint job, and I have a few other vehicles that also stir my interest and cars like these you don’t drive everyday or all day long. So you enjoy them when you feel the time is right. To take care of this car I use a California duster and spray wax, that’s all. This is a great car, good looker and has a great engine sound like no other. It has great throttle respond, runs on 91 and 93 Octane fuels and never needs monkey with. It idles and drives great; never needs any adjustments made to the engine tune up and will never need the spark plugs changed, unlike many low quality engine builds. It’s a great street performance car, it just needs a little interior work to make it 100%, everything else is done, I just ran out of time and interest, also the engine runs at 160 degrees due to the performance 4 core radiator, there’s just to much to list.

Purchased this from the original owner. Still have the original title. I have all insurance cards, reciepts, etc... from original owner. Original window sticker, all new car documentation, copy of the check for original purchase, car was Ziebart with 414 original miles on it. I have the reciept and a copy of that check. It has the original tires, and also a brand new never mounted spare tire that matches the originals. Everything works, and is original, even the paint. Ice cold air, power everything, no T-tops, cassette stereo works excellent. Interior is flawless. Some minor acid rain stains on the hood, but all the cars from the 80's that were black had crappy hood paint I think. Exhaust is original, no modefications at all.
Basically as close to brand new as you will find. Car is not cheap, but I will trade it for the right 1966-1972 musclecar. Try me... Also have a 1951 chevy pickup that needs restored that I may throw in for the right trade. See my other ad and call for more info. Thanks!

I like the '84 and the '72, but if I were to purchase either one the first thing I would do is change the hood on the '72 and hood/rear end on the '84. IMO a 2" cowl would look and blend better on either car. With all the engine/tranny work they did to the '84 I'm surprised they put an 8.5" 28 spline carrier in the rear end.

Hi `Mike & thanks for being the first member to post on this AweSome Fast Monte Carlo Thread...

I agree on the Hood, but I guess if you bought `it you could change it....I like all of them, & it's great to see what others have done to their Monte's to get some power/speed.

What rear end/gears would you put in ? Your auto knowledge always impresses `me...Thanks for posting/sharing

My choice would have been a large bearing Ford 9" floater with a 3.73 ratio and either 31 or 35 spline axles. I just don't think that 8.25" will stand up for long under agressive driving conditions.

Thanks `Mike for your reply & reasons...Maybe the owner will have to learn the hard way, but maybe he ran outa funds & that's why he is selling his Monte

I've met many at shows that have invested a lot of time & money in2 their rides, but when they get them where they want them to `be (?), they then sell & have interest in another make/model & project...I think some just like building them and having a project to work on...There sure is some nice ones out there that were built with a lot of blood/sweat & tears & many $'s....I hope to be able to do it someday, but then sometimes I think I'd like to have a pro built one & just enjoy the driving experience...

I know I spend all my free time mod'in my Honda & replacing abused parts @ a big cost. It was fun, but I sure learned a lot and have slowed down a lot...

Thanks again for posting/sharing...Do you think you will every built up another ride for racing at the track ?
