What a day. The expected attendance was 2,500 when it was all said and done there was over 8,000 that came out. 2 hours after the gates opened to the general public the sherieff said "no more cars can enter, we are at capacity." Vendors ran out of food and water at about 2pm so only soda was left. It was packed. For about an hour the roll races were limited to 1 lane because a car blew its engine. I was told and there is a video on youtube saying it was a GT500 Ill post the video here later. I Loved it. Got to meet Zippy and bumpin96monte. 2 of the coolest people I have met and really got to pick their brains about mechanics since I dont know much about it. Congrats to Zippy for winning the Chevy class. It was really cool crusing with zippy to the event. Once my friend gets me some pics and videos from the event I will be updating this thread with those.

Ok here is the video of the car blowing the engine when racing on the runway at racewars saturday. It has a couple different views. They had to shut down 1 lane for an hour just to clean up the mess.

Anytime. Facebook is blowing up with footage from racewars. im trying to get as much as I can to everyone without having a thread with 50 comments in a row from me. my friend is also putting together a video from the ride up and some of the stuff he recorded there.

 

Good thing he didn't drive it there!!!

 

Thanks for the recap, I would have loved to attend that event. Maybe in the future I can get down there for it. Glad you got to meet a couple of the members of the forum, that is what truly sets this place apart from any other place I've stopped by for information and why I keep coming back.
