It was like 11:30 or Midnight when I took this pic, and the interior is completely lit up by it..My passengers sometimes complain how bright the light is..Oh well, lol. I recommend this to anyone else considering it.

Plus I was doing this, so why not pull out my phone and take a few pictures? :P

Is there any way to actually remove the plastic assembly? I bought a light that has to be hard-wired in.

Yes there is. I removed my entire assembly trying to figure out how to get the lens off....

The outer base has 4 clips very similar to the lens clips. Just carefully pry one side out and pull the base downward, then slide the assembly out. The wires are not very long, so be aware.

Default dome light

I'm trying to reinstall the whole interior back in my 86 Monte SS that I bought and it was all takin out previously. I'm stuck at the dome light cause it screws to something but I'm not sure what. If I was just to screw it up there I would go through the roof of the car and I know that isn't rite can someone help me please

Thanks for posting this. I was worried that if I started pulling it, I might break one of the plastic tabs that hold the lens in.
