Upgrading the rear gears, help?
I have a 1979 Monte Carlo, this thing is pretty well untouched, but I want to do a few improvements. I hope this thread is in the right section, so here goes my issue:
I want to upgrade my rear gears, I was told that 323s would be a good ratio for my car as I don't plan on any major upgrades. Right now I am almost certain I am running whatever stock equipment rolled off the assembly line, but the "peg leg" isn't really something I want to keep. Any advice? Should I find a rear end or just change the gears? (I already need a new diff seal and suspension)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
