Default Transmission troubleshooting

So, I have my '99 Monte parked for awhile now cause I think the transmission is on it's way out. But some of the symptoms are kind of unusual. Hopefully somebody can help me out here and hopefully it doesn't require a full rebuild.
So, when taking off in first, it slips really bad for awhile until you get up to speed and then it's fine. But when you come to a stop, it slips again when you take off. If I reverse and hit the brakes hard to stop, when I go back into drive, it takes off just fine until I stop again. Wierd right? Reverse initally worked fine but seems to be slipping now too. I've changed the fluid and filter, but no change. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you have enough fluid... If that's not the issue, then it probably needs a rebuild unfortunately. You could always try some of that stop-slip junk.

I agree with that as well. Try some Lucas Oil Transmission additive.
