should i take off the 3.2 pulley?
i just got a 05 monte carlo ss tony stewart edition.
its nice
it has a few mods that i can see. i haven't checked the spark plugs yet, so probably a few i cant. it feels great and its fast!!!lol but i would rather it last longer than be a couple quicker than the ss camaro i just raced.
im unsure of the previous maintenance but i can tell the supercharger oil has been maintained and the engine oil was changed in sept via the midas sticker in the window. i know the trans has been recently been flushed and it need new brake pads. where slotted and drilled rotors stock? it has pace setter heads "nods head" and cat delete with what appears to be 2.5 or 3" inch exhaust all the back to ebay mufflers. "worries alittle" the install job wasn't bad tho. it has a 3.2 pulley and what iwas told a ecu flash to handle the reduction. since my can odb2 says its fine but it only reads codes nothing more, where should i go?? i guess is my question. i love this car and want it to last a while. will going back to the stock pulley hurt it if the ecu is flashed for the other?
thank you guys for your help

If the only thing that car has is a 3.2" pulley, headers and a tune, its probably a ticking time bomb. I hope the previous owner did some other mods to support the extra boost, and drilled/slotted rotors were not stock.

Headers are one, cold air intake, 1.9 rockers or possibly a cam. Here is a link to a general mod plan for the 3800

You need to find a way to measure KR right away. There's really no way to know what you need to do until you buy a scan guage or a program for a laptop like HPTuners or DHP and scan that engine for KR. 3.2" is not a beginners pulley, so hopefully there's at least a good set of rockers on that engine, if not an intercooler.

I hope you checked the pistons via a borescope or at least checked compression in the cylinders before you bought it. I wouldn't personally buy a modded L67/L32 unless I was very familiar with the owner and what all had been done.
IMO a 3.2" is small enough to chip pistons if it isn't properly modded. I'd either unplug the bbv to limit boost, or take the SC belt off completely until you're able to verify KR. That'll let you still drive like normal, albeit with less power. It's certainly better than chunking pistons (if it hasn't already).

If you chipped a piston it would run like ****. If you swap a factory pulley on and don't tune for it your gonna run rich and be slower than a factory car. Best thing to do is buy a aeroforce gauge to monitor kr and if you have kr buy more supporting mods and get a good tune on it. Just my opinion.
