i cant decide which one i'd like to try,dont know much on rp is it a good oil

thanks space,as of right now im leaning mobile 1.i already bought it just thought i would get some info. before i put it in.plus i got 5 qts.mobile syn.and a mobile 1oil filter for 30$ at advanced auto parts yesterday.great deal

Me and my Father swear by Mobil 1. That's all we run on my little racecar, and that spins almost 9,000 RPM's right at the 1/8th mile. We used Royal Purple at the start, but about 2 years ago we switched over to Mobil 1 and never looked back. Hope this helps.

 

I use the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 15,000 mile oil, 5w-30. I go 12,000 miles between changes, but change the filter and rotate the tires every 6,000 miles. The warranty is why I use it. NASCAR teams use it a lot, also. I don't see Royal Purple there.

 

yeah thanks,next question it says 15,000 i definetly go about 7 thousand then change itand i dont drive my car much so if i dont get to 7 how long should i wait like 6 mts. or year what is recommended

 

Mobil 1 recommends 15,000 miles or 1 year max. I drive about 38,000.year, so I got it down to about 3 changes a year, at 12,000/change, but 6 filters and tire rotations.

 

thanks wayne,so you change your filters half way to 12,000

 

I know this is not one of ur choices but I use the cheap stuff with 1 qt of Lucas. I used to use a synth blend from Quaker state in my old Nissan.

 

Dumb question alert.
When you switch to a synthetic from thecheap stuff, do you need to do anything special like change it sooner to get to old left-over residue out?
(hope that made sense)
