Default L67 From 03 Bonneville SSEI swap?

So the engine in my 01 ss has had a number of issues and now has a bad knock. I was mulling different options and my father called today to tell me his 03 Bonneville ssei's frame is rotted, he wanted to know if I wanted him to look into how much it would cost to swap the engine/tranny out of his car since they work perfectly into my car.

So basically, is it a direct swap for the l67 from his car into my 01 ss?

We have every part from the Pontiac since it is just going to end up being scrapped anyway.

Thanks!

Trans no, engine yes. Would need to do some wiring etc though and a new tune. Other than that you should have everything. Engine mounts you would reuse from your car since the Bonneville uses different style mounts etc

Thanks!

So why exactly won't the trans work?

Also, would i be able to use some of the l67 parts to upgrade mine?

I think trans has different electronic connectors. You could swap the diff if you wanted since the ssei has the HD and yours has the regular one.

What parts are you talking about swapping to upgrade yours?

I'd forgotten that they used the 4T65E in the L67 Bonnies. For some reason I thought it was the 4T80E. Learn something new everyday

The dif is also different between the N/A and SC bit it's easily adaptable. The electronics would possible be the issue
