Knock Reading, Pulley Drop, Tune...
So i finally got my aeroforce gauge and have a question about the knock reading. Why is there 3 different options for it? Does it matter which i read? I have it on option 1 and for the most part it reads 0's but there are random times it goes up and dwn. the highest i've seen it go was 3.4 but it never stays that high.
With that being said am i ok to drop to a 3.4 and get tuned?
There is a place here where im from (minnesota) that does tuning. Although they specialize in ford nmustangs is it safe to get my tuning done there?
Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions but i want to get my baby ready for summer and i still need to install a few more things! lol

The knock retard 1 is the one you want to read. If you are getting 3.4 KR with a stock pulley I would recommend tuning that out before you try dropping pulleys.
What other mods do you have? If you have none then I recommend reading this post from another forum.

I have speed daddy headers, custom 3 inch exhaust all the way back and flowtech mufflers. K&N intake 180 tstat. No res no cat. But i've seen it that high once since xmas. and its rare when it goes up that high. if ever it goes up to 1 or 2 then back down to 0 but for the most part it stays at 0 does that matter?

3.4° of KR isn't ~too~ bad in my opinion. If it's really random (as in, u can't duplicate it every time) It could be anything from the weather to the fuel you're currently using.
If u have access to a tuner, u could tune it out with some changes to accl. enrichment.
(This is totally up to your own discretion...of coarse)
"My personal opinion" as in, what I would try...would be, swap on the 3.4" pulley, fill up with the highest octane fuel available, and go for a drive CLOSELY WATCHING YOUR, KR.

YES, I was seeing 0.3 KR in 1st and in 2nd gear, it jumped to 3.0...
In regards to Tuning in the MSP / St. Paul area: carl (at) lancerservice.com is a contact that I called a while ago, I spoke to him and he seems knowledgeable, but I have not had him tune for me. I did like the fact that he doesn't "lock" his tune files, so I would be able to see what he did.
I you are going for a 1 time mod, a custom tune is probably the way to go, however if you continue to mod, learning the tuning process might be in store for you
