Unhappy How to replace a fuel pump on a 00' monte carlo ss

hi.

i have a 2000 monte carlo SS and need to replace the fuel pump through behind the back seat.... can anyone please give me any instruction on how to go about doing this? also on how to replace the fuel filter and location?

The fuel filter is located on the drivers side on the rear chassis rail forward of the tire
The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank, remove the trunk floor carpet, then the fuel pump access panel, the fuel pump retainer ring can be accessed through the panel, clean the area before removing the pump and sender assembly, replace the "o" ring seal when replacing the assembly, the pump and sender assembly will spring up when the retainer ring is removed

ok,
i replaced the fuel pump, but now for some reason my gas gauge is reading crazy, its always on either empty or full, and sometimes it moves around, did i do something wrong?????

possibly got the float hung up on something or bad connection at the assembly connector? Did you replace the whole assembly or just the pump? Check for proper ground at the assembly (the whole thing works on a variable resistor to ground)

Most likely a dirty ground.
