'86 upper radiator hose keeps sucking flat?
My upper radiator hose keeps sucking flat? I even had a new radiator put in when the new engine was, bout 6 months ago, I also replaced the hose about a week ago, someone said something about a spring in the tube, when I took off the old one their was nothing

i would replace the radiator hose first as well as the thermastat. because it sounds like the water pump is trying to suck cold fluid into the engine causing the hose to go flat. second after doing that make sure you have some dry card board or some thing under your car to make sure there is nothing is leaking out under the car.if it still doing the same thing i would asume that you have a lim leak or a major leak from the heads. if you have a chance after you do the thermostat replace and hose replace do a presure test to see if there is nothing major has faild

My '84 Camaro had that problem with the lower hose. I don't recall if that hose had a spring or not, but the end result was I had a clogged radiator (so clogged we just swapped it out with a brand new one).
I know you mentioned you got a new radiator when doing an engine swap, but it still might have something wrong with the radiator.... Outside of that, I'm not sure what to check....
