the 700 will fit, i've seen a handful of montes that have them. but, IMO i would go with a WELL BUILT 200r4 because it will bolt in with no problems or modifications (obviously b/c it's the stock trans). with the 700 you are looking at spending time/money on a trans crossmember relocation and different length driveshaft since it's a tad longer than the 200.
if you can get them built for the same price, save yourself the time and hassle and use something that you KNOW will bolt right up. i've heard of ppl building 200s to withstand 500-600hp so you should be covered there. i've even seen them bolted to big blocks. just tell the shop what your estimated hp will be and they can fix you up. good luck!

the 700 fits im running one. you are correct it does require cross member and driveshaft work nothing major though. i like it and they can take some brutal power but they have to be built to do so. my brother and i run them behind n2o motors with out a problem. they have there draw backs though. if you already have the 200 though have it built up. heres a link for a good artical on it. goodluck.

To answer all your questions I have a magazine of Car Craft, October 09 issue that has the article all about overdrive trans:
TH200-4R- no computer required, can be built to handle 1000hp. OE rating of 300hp
Weakness= most of the internals will need to be replaced to handle alot of power.
TH700-R4- dont need computer but can, can be built to handle 700-1000hp. Huge aftermarket support. OE rating of 350hp
Weakness= big rpm drop between 1st and 2nd gear (can be changed), sun shell tends to break at input shaft splines.
Hope this helps.
